XeniaLights has moved to Shawnee Park

Wow, it has been two years since I added anything to this website.  A big change has occurred in 2017.  We decided with the City's permission to move our light display to Shawnee Park near downtown Xenia.  The new display will be on the west side of the park pavilion facing Detroit Blvd.  There are about fifteen parking spaces from that vantage point.  We will continue to use 104.1 FM as our radio frequency so that people visiting the dispaly can continue to listen to the music from their cars.

The new dispaly will feature 8 double arches ( the only element to be used from our display from last year), two new 28' mega trees, 4 new singing faces (twice the size of the previous faces), 6 eight foot columns, 8 whiate Christmas trees, 8 chroma snowflakes, assorted flood light and icicles outlining the pavilion, and finally a large 32 x 70 matric which is actually last year's mega tree rebuilt as a matrix.  All told there are about 25,000 lights in the 2017 display.

Creating the display has been a logistical nightmare.  One example are the mega trees.  Since the display sits on cement pads. we had to have constructed two large steel bases to support the mega trees.  Thanks to Bobby king for his welding expertise in making this happen.  The other hurdle was adding the electric outlets needed for the display.  While the city supplied the harware needed Jeremy Hutchison at HB Electric donated the crew to make this happen.  Finally a big thanks to Xenia Rental for the loan of a lift to get the display elements high up on the building.

The display is scheduled to run nightly through December 31st from 5:30 PM tp 10:00 PM each evening.

The 2015 season is underway and we have a great new layout for you to see and enjoy.  We have made a major change this year from traditional christmas lights to pixel strings which allows much more variety in our display.  Lights will be on from 6:00 to 10:00 PM each evening through January 1st. 2016.

For up to date new and information look for us under XeniaLights on facebook.

Thanks to everyone who attended our lightshow this year.  It was the best year yet for donations to IHN. 100% of all donations recieved go to IHN.

It is a new Christmas Season and Xenialights is once again bringing light to the holidays.  Our display will be on each night from 6:00 PM to 11:00 Pm through January 3, 2015.  This years display has two new features.  The first is a 180 degree 14 ft. GECE based Pixel Tree that is 24 strands wide by 36 pixels high and is controlled by two Sandevices E-682 controllers.  The tree only takes 3 to 4 hours to erect compared to the three days it takes to put up our led string based mega-tree that has 64 strands of 200 count lights sets.  I think this may be the last year for the traditional Mega-Tree.  I will be looking to replace it with a large pixel based tree.

The other new element added to our display this year is a video projector that projects images onto our garage door as part of the light show.  This is featured in our new song for this season which is "Let It Go" from the movie Frozen.

Hard at work setting up the display for this year.  I had hoped to launch the show Thanksgiving evening but the weather has put me behind on my setup schedule.  So the plan for now is to have the first showing Friday night, hopefully starting at 5:30 and running until Midnight.  Normal hours for the display will be Sunday - Thursday 5:30 to 10:30.  Friday, Saturday, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve - 5:30 to Midnight.  The show will run from November 29th through January 3rd.

The Halloweenlights are going up in just over three weeks and here is a video of the first test of my new Monster Quartet.  All sequencing (face animation for this song was done by Xenialights)

September 22, 2013

Fall is here and we are hard at working getting ready for our Halloween and Christmas Light Shows. The Halloween lights will be up for one week from Friday night October 25 to the following Friday night November 1st. We will probably run the lights from 6 PM to Midnight on Friday and Saturday nights and 6 PM to 10 PM the other nights.

We have built new singing monster faces for this year. They are the same design as last year but twice as big. I hope to add a couple of new songs also but singing faces take a long time to program.I hope to launch the Christmas Lights on Thanksgiving night this year and run through the first week of the new year. I am also adding four singing faces to our Christmas display this year. There will be Santa, one of his elves and two singing Christmas trees. I think the kids will really enjoy the new Christmas faces which I hope to complete this weekend. My biggest challenge between now and Thanksgiving will be to find enough hours to do the sequencing required for the new faces and songs I am contemplating. And because giving back is important to us we will be once again sponsoring a donation box for the Interfaith Hospitality Network. So make plans to stop by and enjoy the lights this year!!

The XeniaLights 2012 Christmas display is history and we hope you enjoyed the show!  We are actively planning and making purchases for the 2013 season.  We will also once again plan to have a small Halloween display the week of Halloween.

2012 Display Videos are available on Youtube under "Xenialights"

Giving Back 2012! - Total donations to IHN is $775.00.

Thanks to all who gave to this worthy cause.

Especially during the Christmas Season, we should look for ways to help those less fortunate than we. As such, XeniaLights is accepting monetary donations on behalf of the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greene County. IHN is committed to providing housing, meals, and assistance to homeless families of Greene County on a temporary basis bringing hope and a safe haven for their guests while they seek employment and permanent housing. XeniaLights is proud to sponsor this for IHN. 100% of all Donations received here will go to IHN. There is a donation box at the curb close to our mailbox.

The Donation Box is also our Candy Cane stand. Candy Canes are free to children and those young at heart and require no donation.

The XeniaLights display is fully funded by the owners and no donations will go to the display. The display is our gift to the community.

Merry Christmas from XeniaLights!
